Also known as trackball. An input device which is used to do the same actions as a mouse. It is a ball, set into a cup, which can be made to roll in any direction by using a finger or the palm of a hand, depending on the size of the ball. The movements of the ball are followed on the screen by a pointer, and finger-operated switches work in the same way as mouse buttons.
